Something that has been bothering me since I got the phone months ago are the vibrations: it seems that there is just one and only vibration intensity.
Some apps (like keyboards, accessibility apps) give you the option to change the intensity with a slider but result is: there is no change whatsoever.
So it probably means ZTE hardlocked this into the rom and can’t be bothered to let us modify that or to give us a slider to change the default intensity. Still another quirk in the jagged software basket. Now, as far as I’m concerned, I’m not a fan of haptic feedback when touching capacitive keys but the lack of backlighting from those keys made me enable the vibration on touch (otherwise I feel like missing the target too frequently in the dark). The issue is that I find the said vibrations too coarse, you can even hear the phone vibrating. Sometimes I actually get 2 vibrations instead of 1… (on another note I even get keys messing themselves up suddenly: recent apps becomes home and home doesn’t work anymore… well).
That’s why this phone is so uncomfortable to casually browse with: no backlighting, no on-screen buttons option, strong immutable and buggy vibrations.I actually have had a ZTE Nubia phone before and it ticks all the boxes: it has the same capacitive keys |. o .| but well-spaced, backlit and with very soft on-touch vibrations which can be felt. Why is it that even the latter is impossible to reproduce with a flagship device such as the Axon 7?
What I am wondering is :
- am I the only one to have noticed this?
- will the upcoming nougat update at least let us do one of these: change default vibration intensity with granularity levels? let apps actually change vibration intensity? swap to on-screen button (like the A2017)?
or is it just vain hope?Thank you for reading!

Pretty much as the „multi“-colored notification LED, the limitation seems to be the hardware.
I hope I’m wrong and that someone ends up figuring something out to help us mod the European version. - AutorBeiträge
